All the Love I Saved
All the Love I Saved is one of the most personal songs I have ever written.
It is about the grief of losing a child who was stillborn, and the strange, lifelong ache of mourning not only the life that was lost, but every future that might have followed.
The song asks the questions that grief never really answers: who would you have become, what would you have loved, whose hand would you have held, what kind of person would you have grown into?
You can grieve someone deeply even when the world never got the chance to know them. Love does not need years, memories or photographs to be real.
I wrote All the Love I Saved to give that grief somewhere to go, and with the hope that anyone carrying a similar loss might hear it and feel a little less alone.
All that love still exists. It still belongs to the child who never got the chance to receive it. 💔
