Oh, Sarnia

Oh, Sarnia is a powerful tribute to Guernsey’s liberation, remembering those who endured the Occupation, those who never returned, and the island that stepped back into freedom on 9 May 1945.

But it also asks a harder question: what does freedom mean today if ordinary islanders can no longer afford a home, a future, or a place in the island they love?

A song of remembrance, resilience and the belief that liberation should be more than a date in history. It should be something every generation can still feel.
