White Rock to Freedom
White Rock to Freedom is a moving folk song about Guernsey’s occupation and liberation, remembering both the suffering of war and the resilience of the islanders who endured it.
From the bombing at White Rock and the evacuation of children, to hidden radios, underground news and the long years of occupation, it reflects on the fear, loss and quiet courage that carried Guernsey through one of the darkest chapters in its history.
But it is also a song of hope. Rising from sorrow to freedom, it honours the survivors, the loved ones who were lost, and the unbreakable spirit that remained alive in the island until liberation finally came.
White Rock to Freedom is a tribute to remembrance, endurance and the strength of Guernsey’s people.
